Sahara is a duo consisting of Trish and Dave Long. They originally came from Dublin, but now reside in sunny Australia (where else?). They are well known for their wonderful ability to harmonize with each other.
Over the years their music has become subtly different, a marriage of sounds and influences between the Northern and the Southern hemispheres ‘the mist meeting the haze’. The resulting music has light, bright tones intertwined with the rich, earthy moodiness of their Celtic sound. Lyrics stretch from uplifting songs with themes of hope and love to songs that draw awareness to what is happening in the world in which we live. The instrumentation includes vocals, flageolet, guitar, sax, flute, recorder and sequencing.
Trish’s vocals have been compared to those of Ellen Foley (best known for her duet “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” with Meatloaf), while Dave has been favorably compared to rock great Sting.
In their field of music, Sahara are extremely well known and respected having achieved accolades from all over the world.
