Remember The Poor? They had a huge hit with the anthemic “More Wine Waiter Please”. They were the “Airborne” of their day, which was around 20 years ago. They were going to be huge, the next big thing in Australian rock. For whatever reason, they weren’t. In fact they vanished for around 10 years and only returned at the invitation of W.A.S.P, who asked them to be their support band for their Australian tour. The Poor agreed, found their Mojo and they are back with a new album “Round 1″.
I guess they saw a great rock revival happening around them with bands like Airborne, Jet, and Wolfmother finding huge success and decided the time was right for a full fledged second attempt. Power to ‘em.
