This kerfuffel about Men At Works “Down Under” song being a rip off of an old children’s song “Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree” is a total wank.
I don’t like Men At Work all that much, and I think the song is a piece of clichéd, novelty clap trap, however the similarities between it and the old song are negligible to say the least.
The music world is full of songs “borrowed” from other artists in various degrees. This one is bullshit, Men At Work should, in fact must appeal.
